TREATMENT OF SKIN CANCER
Melanoma
We have detected and treated hundreds of melanomas over the past 20 years. We can treat most melanomas in our rooms by excision, without the need for referral. Sometimes we might need to refer you to a specialist melanoma unit.
Squamous Cell Carcinoma
We treat many of these cancers, which can grow rapidly into a painful lump, in our rooms. Detected early, they usually require simple excision. Occasionally we will refer you for further tests or treatment.
Basal Cell Carcinoma
The commonest of all cancers, BCCs are easily treated in our rooms. Early on, they can be subtle, requiring careful examination by our doctors. Some BCCs can be treated with Aldara cream, some with freezing and curettage (scooping out), and some with surgery. We do all this in our rooms.
